Travel costs to and from the mainland are an additonal expense to add on to the cost of school trips for pupils from Sgoil Lionacleit. We wanted to help with this so our local pupils are not disadvantaged. We have made a donation of £1000 from our Making a Difference Locally fund to go towards the cost of travel for Sgoil Lionacleit pupils on school trips. The first group of pupils to benefit were 14 Hospitality students who travelled to Glasgow to visit the BBC Good Food show. They said the highlight of the show was seeing Mary Berry and Paul Holywood from the Great British Bake Off create some heathly and seasonal dishes and pick up some tips along the way. They met lots of food exhibitors, got ideas and samples and were able to watch demonstrations and interviews with chefs about the skills they had learnt during their careers. A productive trip which was also great fun!
